2017 Green Ninja Film Festival
This year was the fourth Annual Green Ninja Film Festival! More than one hundred films were submitted from eight U.S. middle schools this year. The winners were selected by the Green Ninja judges while the audience voted for the People’s Choice Award. You can watch any of the finalist films by clicking the images below.
These films were developed as part of the Green Ninja Film Academy (GENIE) program. Eight middle schools and over six-hundred students participated in this five-week intervention designed to encourage scientific storytelling. Students focused on narrative, science, and filmmaking to create an engaging short film about a climate solution. Each team of filmmakers collaborated with a Green Ninja story mentor during the writing and creation process to help expand on their ideas. A digital science portfolio accompanied the film to explain the scientific concepts and to reflect on the potential impact of the film’s climate solution.
