Teachers test out the Green Ninja Smart Energy Tracker
As part of the BAESI professional development teacher workshops, teachers had the opportunity to test drive the latest Green Ninja Smart Energy Tracker online platform. Teachers brought their own PG&E energy data and monitored their energy usage over the course of 2 weeks. The intent was to build teacher competency in the Green Ninja Smart Energy Tracker software so they could run the activity with their students. As participants in the contest, students will enter their home PG&E energy data and track their own usage as well as the entire class’s over the course of 2 weeks (baseline period). Students will then design an energy conservation plan. After implementing their plan they will observe their usage to see if there was a reduction and revise their design if necessary (conservation period). The overall goal is to see if the class as a whole can notably reduce their energy usage. If teachers are still interested in participating in the Green Ninja Smart Energy Contest, please contact Dr. Eugene Cordero at firstname.lastname@example.org.
