Shower of Power
Long showers are not only a waste of water, but also a waste of energy. All the water we use has to be pumped to us, and this process requires energy. Taking shorter showers is a good way to save money on water bills and save energy. You can also do some extra savings by investing into a low-flow showerhead to reduce your water consumption.
Using cooler water also saves energy! Since most water heaters use large amounts of energy to heat the water, the combination of a short, cool shower can save you even more money and energy. For those who are sensitive to cold water or live in colder temperatures, there are other options. Consider the following:
Do you let the water run until it’s warm and forget? Instead of letting the water run until you’re ready, there are temperature devices that easily attach to the shower head and close the warm running water when not in use. When you’re ready to use the warm water, just pull a string and it will dispense the conserved water. Check it out here!
